Following the CDC recommendations during COVID19 Pandemic and after two successful Orthognathic Surgeries in four days, our residents and I had a chance to relax and enjoy a small gathering.  This was particularly significant after 12 months of the prohibition for socialization.

New 3D Cone Beam CT Scan, CBCT

In 2008, this office obtained one of the first 3D Vertical CBCT Scan in the country.  At the time of installation, this unit was the 16th installed unit in the USA.  As we have witnessed the digital evolution in the iPhone, the same has occurred in 3D CAT Scan technologies.  The amount of radiation has been reduced and the software programs have been enhanced giving clinicians a better chance to diagnose abnormalities

This month, we purchase our second and most advanced CBCT Scan with incredible imaging details and with reduced radiation.  A colleague challenged me for the decision to make such a great investment during COVID19!  My response was very simple: “Nothing is more important in my practice than the welfare of my patients.”  I and my entire staff are very excited to employ this new technology as we know not only our patients are better served but we are better protected.

Dr. Momtaheni "Hanging" Out at the South Pole

The Ceremonial South Pole, with a silver globe on top of a “barber-esque pole,” was the geographic pole at one point of time. Since the South Pole Station and everything surrounding it is located on a moving ice sheet, the ever-changing geographic South Pole is remarked every year with a brass pole. These pole markers are designed yearly, and the marker in this photo was placed on January 1, 2013. This pole marked the relative position of the eight planets, and Pluto for January 1, 2013.

We Offer HbA1c

The term HbA1c refers to glycated haemoglobin. It develops when haemoglobin, a protein within red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout your body, joins with glucose in the blood, becoming glycated.

By measuring glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), clinicians are able to get an overall picture of what our average blood sugar levels have been over a period of weeks/months.

For people with diabetes, this is important as the higher the HbA1c, the greater the risk of developing diabetes-related complications.

This test can also diagnose a pre-diabetic condition. Since surgery for diabetic patients have additional risks, we offer the test with no extra charge.
