Dr. David Momtaheni

 

 

Dr. Momtaheni graduated as number one in his class from The National University of Iran.  Subsequently, he was  accepted to Tufts School of Dental Medicine as a post-graduate student.  There he sharpened his skills in restorative dentistry and teaching. He obtained his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Harvard and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY.  In 1981, he became Chief Resident.  He had a one year Fellowship in Special Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center.  A year later, he became a full-time faculty member and Chief of the TMJ Clinic from 1983-1989.  In 1986, he joined the Columbia University faculty, where he is a Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine.

 

Dr. Momtaheni married Dr. Esther Michael - former faculty member of Georgetown University.  They have two children, Adam and Ashley, and two "grand-dogs", Chloe and Lola.  Dr. Momtaheni is an avid sailor and enjoys skiing, tennis, squash, golf and car racing.
